What is Solana?
A high-throughput blockchain known for fast, cheap transactions — and the home of most memecoin activity.
Solana is a public blockchain built for speed. Transactions settle in under a second for fractions of a penny, versus Ethereum's slower and pricier fees, which is why applications that need many small transactions — trading, payments, games — cluster there. You hold its native coin (SOL) in a wallet like Phantom, and use it to pay those tiny fees and to swap for other tokens.
That cheapness has a direct consequence: launching a token on Solana costs almost nothing, so an enormous number of them get launched. The network hosts a great deal of genuine engineering and also the overwhelming majority of memecoin activity — including $BUSINESS, which is why buying it starts with getting some SOL and swapping through a decentralized exchange.
Low friction cuts both ways. The same properties that make Solana pleasant to use make it trivial to spin up a token, promote it, and abandon it. The chain is neutral; the behavior on it is not, and no amount of technical quality vouches for what someone deployed on top.
